Hewlett Packard has announced its latest ElitePad 900 tablet which is powered by Intel’s Atom Z260 (Clover Trail) processor and runs Windows 8 in it. HP has specifically designed this tablet for business
and governments keeping in mind almost every kind of usage. Company
says, the tablet is ultrathin, lightweight and it has features to keep
managers happy.
With only 9.2 mm thick and 680 grams in
weight, it has 10.1 diagonal display and gorilla glass screen. Keeping
in mind the thinness and productivity, HP has put in it an ultra-thin
long lasting battery that can survive up to 10 hours approximately.
The tablet will come with 32 and 64 GB of internal memory but it can be further enhanced by inserting a separate SD card (recently Kingston has launched a very affordable 128 GB of SD card).
HP claims that tablet is not only
stylish but it also offers military grade durability for drops,
vibration, dust, temperature extremes and high altitude.

ElitPad 900 has lots of connectivity
options ranging from keyboard integration, connectivity ports, SD card
reader, HDMI slot etc. On docking station you can have a desktop
experience with the keyboard while the battery recharges.
It has the option to insert the SIM card
for using your own data plan. With that, it offers you high definition
(1080p) front camera as well as 8 mega pixels rare camera along with LED
flash for great quality photos and videos.
One more feature
that HP boasts is the self serviceability. Customers will have the
access to its panel, battery, motherboard and unibody chassis. In case
any of the parts break, you can always replace it yourself without
replacing the entire gadget or even taking it to a service center.
Last but not the least, it supports NFC and Bluetooth.
HP says, ElitPad 900 will be available in the market by 2013. Computerworld reports the price as $ 699 but hints that HP is reconsidering the price before the official launch of gadget.
