Gone are the days when car maker around
the world were after heavy and powerful engines. They are now more
concerned about satisfying the digital generation which seems to be
apathetic about cars and is more into smart gadgets and social networks. They care less about new cars as compared to their elders. The most preferred thing for them now is latest smartphone and growing social network where they can express themselves.
The trend is being observed at Paris Motor Show 2012
where world’s renowned car makers have started recognizing the changing
trends and preferences. Besides regular rivalry with other car makers, a
new form of competition has emerged that how best a car is equipped with latest communication technology.
Vice President of Ford Europe said, “Connectivity is getting more important”.
“The new generation of car buyers for
next 20 years will be fairly unique. They grew up in a world where
computers and cell phones and connectivity all came together at the same
time”, said VP Sales and Marketing at Volvo.
“They like iPhones and iPods more than they like cars” said CEO of Jaguar Land Rover.
As the Paris Motor Show 2012 is in
progress, people are witnessing a huge shift in trend. Now cars have
this tendency to interact seamlessly with iPhone
and other smartphones. A concept car from Audio has a built-in Wi-Fi so
that passengers could remained connected while on road. Apart from
this, there are cars on display that have mobile apps on board able to
communicate with smart devices and understand the voice commands from
passengers. In the coming days, your car will well recognize your voice,
gesture and do whatever you do with your smartphone or other gadgets.
