Mobile ringtone sellers to face wrath of Talibans

Mobile ringtone sellers to face wrath of TalibansOnce again, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is after mobile phone and computers sellers. This time organization has warned mobile phone and computer sellers in Peshawar that whoever is involved in the business of downloading obscene video clips and selling of ringtones will face their wrath if they do not stop their activities.
According to Dawn News, a notice in the form of poster from TTP was pasted on mobile phones and computers shops at Insaaf Market Peshawar which said that money earned through downloading obscene videos and musical ring tones at cellular phones was forbidden in Islam and those, who indulged in such immoral and un-Islamic business, were liable to be punished.
Have Talibans taken the role of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority which is a watch dog for telecommunication in Pakistan?
It’s a layman’s observation that  religious organizations use all kinds of telecommunication services for their internal and external communications. They keep using latest techniques to involve as many people as they can. Their last service that gained recognition was Taliban Online.
As far as obscene videos are concerned, they should be taken care of but the musical ringtones…i don’t know why they are so un-Islamic. I’ve personally witnessed many beard men choosing from the list of catchy ringtones. This is the source of revenue for thousands of individuals and companies even. If Talibans will destroy their shops how about the servers of cellular companies and online stores . Will they be hacked as well?? And what about the musical bands of Arab World who keep releasing albums and few of them are quite popular across the world even.  Their un-Islamic musical groups should be banned as well in that case.
The notice further says, This is the last warning to all dealers and the market owners to quit such un-Islamic business,” warned the pamphlet, adding that stern action would be taken against those, who refused to adhere to the warning. “We will kill the shopkeepers, owners of the market and would also target their houses as they are not doing any service to their Muslim brothers and sisters,” the pamphlet threatened.
I don’t know what would be the fate of these poor shopkeepers in Peshawar but i want to ask one simple question to these religious organizations: Today when the world is busy exploring Mars, why we are still fighting over the status of Islamic and non-Islamic terms even after 65 years of our independence?
