After the success of Punjab Laptop Scheme in association with Dell Pakistan, Punjab Government has taken another step to support education in Punjab.  This time as well it is Dell Pakistan which has selected for this education related project.
Dell Pakistan in collaboration with Government of Punjab will establish 26 e-libraries and digital labs in the selected educational institutions of the province.
First three libraries were opened today on 14 August and a ceremony was held at Government Post Graduate College for Woman, Samandabad, Lahore. The event was officiated by Chief Minister Punjab – Mian Shahbaz Sharif who is actively working to introduce IT in every section of the society. Dell regional management was also present to witness the launch.
E-library is basically a project that will let students access the educational material using the IT related solutions.
Working on similar guidelines, another company Wateen Telecom is also establishing Wi-Fi hotspots in educational institutions as well as an e-portal that will help students in Punjab to prepare for their exams using valuable information on the portal.
